LinkSafe Frequently Asked Questions
1. I am on site to perform work, but I can’t get access/ I am not compliant:
An employee may not be compliant / may not be able to get access to site for the following reasons:
They have not setup their LinkSafe account & received a PIN.
They have setup their LinkSafe account BUT they have not completed their online site induction
They have just completed their online induction BUT their documents have not been approved by Safety Action as yet.
Their induction has expired, as it is only valid for one year.
Their compliance document has expired e.g. trade licence.
Their company has not done their company Pre-qualification Form
Their company’s Pre-qualification Form or insurance documents have expired
Their company or the employee is marked as ‘’Inactive’’
2. I am an employee of a contractor, I have not setup my individual LinkSafe account or PIN, and I need a link to do this?
An employee of a contractor should have received an email from their company with a link for them to setup their individual LinkSafe account and complete their site induction. This link is available on the companies LinkSafe Administration portal.
If the company is unable to login to their Admin portal to send the link please call LinkSafe Concierge service by Safety Action on 03 9989 2630 to assist.
3. I am an employee of a contractor, I have a LinkSafe account & PIN but I have not completed my online site induction, and need a link to do this:
Please login to your LinkSafe account with your email address, PIN and password. Select the site and complete your online induction. You can log-in using the link below:
4. I have forgotten my LinkSafe account password, so I can’t log-in to my account?
The LinkSafe password needs to be between 8 and 15 characters, with at least 1 capital letter, 1 number and 1 special character (e.g. FirstN12!)
If you have forgotten your LinkSafe password, select the ‘’Forgot Password’’ option. The system will then send you an email to reset your password.
If you are not receiving the ‘’reset password’’ email:
Check in your junk / spam mailbox
Call LinkSafe Support – 03 9894 2999 and request they reset your password for you.
5. I am an employee of a contractor, I have just completed my online site induction, but I still can’t get access to site?
Once you have setup your individual LinkSafe account, and completed your online site induction, your compliance documents will be submitted to Safety Action to review and approve.
We recommend setting up your LinkSafe account and completing your induction at least 24 hours prior to your visit to site, to allow time for Safety Action to review your documents.

6. I am an employee of a contractor. I am in the process of completing my online site induction but the system is asking me to upload licences or qualifications I don’t have, as I am still an apprentice?
If you will be working as an apprentice, you must select ‘Apprentice’ as your Trade Type during your online induction. The induction should not ask you to upload trade licences if you are an apprentice.
7. I am an employee of a contractor, I have completed my induction but my document has been rejected, what do I do?
If a compliance document you have uploaded is reviewed and rejected, the rejection email you receive will include the reason why the document was rejected and it will specify what document is required.
8. I am an employee of a contractor, I want a copy of my site Induction Certificate?
Please login to your LinkSafe Induction portal with your email address and password. You can download your Induction Certificate from the induction portal.
9. I can’t scan the QR code on site with my Windows phone:
Users of a Windows phone with Windows 8 instead of version 10 will be unable to sign in by scanning the QR Code at the site.
Why? Windows 8 security feature blocks the website.
What they need to do?
They can download the free upgrade to Windows 10 on their phone.
If they are unable to do this (e.g. old phone), there is a phone number on QR Code sign in poster at each site. If they call the phone number, a person will be able to manually sign them in.
10. I am having issues loading or viewing my LinkSafe account on my apple device.
Confirm the iPhone or iPad software is up to date.
Check the browser you are using doesn’t need updating.
If using the browser “Safari” Download “Chrome” and try on this browser as sometimes Safari blocks pages.
If still not working, try on a desktop computer.
12. What is an induction?
An online induction system for delivering a site’s induction modules online to contractor employees. The inductions are site specific.
13. What is LinkSafe?
A digital contractor management system used by sites to ensure they only engage contractor firms who have demonstrated that they have competent safety systems and good safety performance, as relevant for their work.
